Unusual Visitor

One never knows who is going to show up at our doors.  Imagine our surprise on Friday when a peacock made a fine entrance.  Truth be told, he was out in the parking lot in danger of being hit, so he was encouraged to come into the museum for his own safekeeping.

Unfortunately, he did not stay in the gift shop.  He went right on to the exhibit floor and started looking at cars.  To make a very long (and extremely funny) story short, he was finally handled by the animal control people on Saturday morning - after spending the night in the women's restroom.

Plans continue forward with our Steampunk exhibit!  Several of the makers were here this past week for more measuring and planning.  All I can say is.....this exhibit is going to put the museum over the top!  For the most part, we have done very traditional programming since the doors opened in 1988.  It's time for a change.  It's time to break the bonds of the expected and move into the realm of the unexpected.

It's been awhile since I've written anything, but now that I can get into the website all on my own, watch out world!

The biggest news is the upcoming Steampunk Exhibit.  Man, this is going to be cool!  We are featuring all kinds of conveyances that are not necessarily cars.  In a nutshell, Steampunk is Victorian design if it had been applied to modern technology.  Jules Verne and H.G.
