Dear Friends of the San Diego Automotive Museum,
We hope you are doing well and staying healthy. We have great news! We look forward to welcoming you back June 19, 2020! Last week we received news from the County of San Diego that we can move forward with our reopening plan. We are committed to ensuring your visit to the Museum is a safe one and we will be following protocol established by the State and County for a safe public reopening, including but not limited to, the following mentioned below.
From June 19, 2020, we will temporarily be closed on Mondays and will be open Tuesday through Sunday from 11 am to 4 pm. For everyone’s safety, our staff will be cleaning throughout the day and face masks will be required for all staff and visitors ages 3 and up. Capacity limits have been put into place as well as hand sanitizer stations and social distancing markers of 6 feet. Due to the Palisades construction in front of the museum the parking lot is closed, however parking will be available throughout Balboa Park. We have set up a new temporary entrance on the north side of the building through the rollup door (this is where the vehicles would normally roll in!).
We thank you for your ongoing support and for making us part of your lives. It is with your continued support that we are able to be part of the community and we are committed to tell the story of the social and technological past, present, and future of motorized vehicles throughout our collections, exhibitions, and educational programs. We look forward to your visit and please note that the first edition of That 70s Car Show has been extended until August 29th and due to popular demand, a second rendition will open on September 4th with a new fleet of retro 70s cars!
Thank you and see you soon!
